Mr. Toads Wild Ride

Closest City:   Meyers, CA (west of South Shore)
Length:   13 & 21 miles
Trail Type:   Point-to-Point or Loop
Skill Level:   Technical - Advanced
  Cardio - Aerobic to Anaerobic
  Muscular - Enduring (climbing)
Trailhead Elev:   7,320 feet
High Point:   8,820 feet
Elev. Gain:   2,480' Point-to-Point, 3000' Loop

This is definitely not a ride for novices.  The climb is not very long (just over 4 miles), excellent narrow single track, steep with rock outcroppings and step-ups.  The descent is a technical downhill dream.  This means that the faster you go the better you need to be.  A rider with advanced skills will love it while the intermediate might have to dismount or ride the brakes more than usual.  This is one of those trails that if you're in the habit of going over the bars you will for sure do it here!  Almost everyone will walk at least a few places during the ride unless your into Trials riding.
Option 1:  point-to-point with shuttle. One car at the top, ---Camp Ground and another at the bottom, Pioneer Rd.  The above statements and data reflect this option.
Option 2:  park at end of trail off of Pioneer, ride out to Hwy.89 and climb up to the camp ground on the left, once in parking lot stay to the right and look for the Tahoe Rim Trail on the right.  Take the TRT staying to the left and up to the top.  Stay on the main trail as it descends pack to your vehicle.

Directions to Trailheads:
South of South Lake Tahoe near Meyers on California Hwy.89, take Pioneer Rd. to Oneidas, turn right and park at the "Power Line Trail" sign or nearby.
