  Wheels back Then...

Here's the front rim off of the Torker.
Araya 7C hoop,
Gold and blue spokes,
Bullseye hub,
Blue Comp III.

Araya was pretty much the only good BMX hoop in the early years and the "7C" was their top model, today Araya still is one of the top hoop manufacturers out there.
Painted spokes was the rage!  You could have a set of rims custom built with any color combo or buy them pre-built but after a few pedals to the spokes they started looking kinda tore up.
Bullseye hubs rulled the BMX market along with Phil Wood and others.
A blue Comp III... Cool eh?  You could get Comps in most colors back then and there also was a Comp 4 which had small, pointy knobies on it.

Here is another spoked Araya 7C.

     painted spokes going into matching
     anodized nipples.
