1980 Schwinn Sting

Anyone have a decent replacement image for the above?

First thing you notice about the Schwinn Sting is the welds were so smooth you
couldn't tell where one tube stopped and the others started.  Part of this was due to the flared tubing not to mention that the frames where manufactured at Schwinn's Paramount factory were their famed Paramount 12 speed was getting welded up.  Kevin Helms describes the transition from tube to tube perfectly, "It was like they had filled every weld joint with butter and smoothed it out with a hot knife", LOL yup, butter... mmmm!
At some point Schwinn dropped the fancy tubing from the Stings, anyone remember when?

Email us if you have any additional info, photos or stories.
