Still in it's package is a 40 tooth Pro
Neck chainring with both bolt paterns to fit all spyders.
Notice the polished teeth on the Pro Neck,
this style would look a lot better after useage as there was no anodizing to wear off.
The other ring is a 38 tooth Sugino,
both are alloy, the smaller package has red and silver Sugino
chainring bolts. These rings would have set you back around $10.50 in the olden days.

Holding the chainring to the cranks is a steel Addicks
chainring spyder with only 3 chainring bolts. It was common to see
less than 5 bolts holding the chainring on as the bolts would loosen up
and fall out, common that is for those who didn't regularly maintain their bikes.
This was used around the very late 70's and on into the 80's
untill fancier aluminum spyders started coming out.
The Addicks chainrings were made out of a material simular to Skyway's Tuff Wheels but people would refer to the Addicks chainrings as "the plastic sprockets".
The rings on the left have both bolt patterns and the white chainring has extra, larger holes for lightening.
These chainrings were popular at first with those who would jump on any new thing and then there was the rest of us who waited to see if they would last. Guess what? they didn't! The older, stronger rider's would end up stripping the teeth right off of the Addicks chainrings.
While being light they wern't as durrable as other materials used to make chainrings but they were fine for the younger riders who didn't have the sort of leg power that would waste an Addicks chainring.
