At the ripe age of 18 Bob Haro made his first number plate! This was about 1976-77 when the only plates available for BMX was motorcycle motor cross plates so Bob came up with what was then known as Factory Plates. In 1978 the plates became known as Haro and the design on the right is close to the original at that time. Take a look at the Haro plate... it's design is over 20 years old and it still looks great, number plates really haven't came to far since then but why should they...

Original #plate by Bob Haro Bob Haro... the inventor of the Haro Lever, Haro Plate and later on Haro bikes. Bob is also known as one of the early pioneers of flatland/freestyle.

At One Point... at least in Nor Cal, it was popular to cut out the plastic where the #circle is, replace it with metal mesh/screen, paint it to match your bike and then stick your numbers on the metal.
