Here you have Todd's
restored 1978 BMX Products INC. Motomag II Mongoose.
If you want to see the bike before restoration take a look at
Todd's
1978 Mongoose in
our "Complete Bike" section.
In December 1998 Todd got lucky and found the brand new
'78 Goose frame hanging on a wall of a bike shop.
The crank, quill stem and flat bladed forks are made by Ashtabula
who also made the same components with out the infamous Ashtabula
stamp for Mongoose.
The "Mongoose" stamped
44 tooth sprocket was made by Sugino for BMX Products
INC.
TP steel "rat-trap" pedals for your feet.
Steel seatpost and clamp. It also sports steel bars with
Oury grips. Chen Shin knobby tires kickin' the dirt.
The seat is a generic seat but has the "waffle pattern"
that many seats had back then such as the widely used Messenger
brand. The pad set is correct for the bike with metal snaps,
the infamous Mongoose animal logo for the stem
pad and "Mongoose" block letters
on the bar pad.
Thanks to Todd Ehle for the above photo, parts rundown
