Mountain Biking Non Stop!
Great Rides

Wilder Ranch, Santa Cruz, California

Over looking the Pacific Ocean

This shot is just above Eagle Cut-Off, the trail you see in the distance is just one of the ways to the Old Cove Landing Trail which is a nice 'n eazy cliff side ride out of the parking area.

Wilder has much beauty, variety and wild life, I havn't been to Wilder once with out a fox or coyote running across my path. Now if your wild life is more of the human type then head on down to the Santa Cruz Beach and Boardwalk were you will find "Greasy Spoons" to fine dinning, sandy beach action, a midway and shops packed with Santa Cruz labeled items.

Water Crossing
Wilder is a intermediate to advanced ride, there are plenty of beginer trails but you will still have to do some climbing.
Riding thru tall grass
A total of 3,900 acres with 28 miles of trails including: single track, fire roads, water crossings, moist forest and open fields with tall grass, all on a hillside with the shady Eucalyptus Grove at the top.
The trailhead is two miles north of Santa Cruz on Highway 1, parking is available on the highway or in the official Wilder Ranch parking lot.
From the parking lot you can either ride along the coast via the Old Cove Landing Trail or procede south thru the parking area, down the hill to the actual ranch. If you didn't get a map from the ranger when entering the lot you may pick one up at the ranch. From the ranch ride east, under the bridge and your there!

Here is a MAP of the trail system at Wilder.
