![]() Latrobe Loop, Latrobe, CA. This scenic route travels through the Cosumnes River canyon and across several creeks on lightly traveled dirt roads. The terrain on the dirt road goes from natural loose rock to hard pack with rock outcroppings, shallow to deep waterbars and is mosly rolling with a few grades. Since these dirt roads are traveled by motorized trafic this is one place you can MTB in the winter without screwing up the trail. One look at the picture will show you that it's pretty wide open with no single track but for the experienced hammerhead you will find the full loop to be a nice workout when done fast and without stoping. For the less experienced this is a nice place to get familer with the dirt and to get into shape for some more serious trail riding. Excuse the photo, it was taken with a disposable. The view is south bound on Michigan Bar Road ridding towards the Cosumnes River.
